FMCSA to hold October 31 meeting on bus rules

September 23, 2016

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will hold a public meeting October 31 to discuss four issues related to the agency’s May 27, 2015, rule on bus lease and interchange. The rule originally was slated to take effect January 1, 2017, but the agency earlier this year postponed the effective date by a year so that it could consider a number of petitions for reconsideration. FMCSA on August 31 said it would conduct further rulemaking to consider changes in four areas. The public meeting will be held at the U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters.
